The Karigars of Manngiri
"Hands that sculpt tradition, eyes that envision art—meet the heartbeat of Indian craftsmanship."
Simple cultured attire, the faint and warm smell of natural surroundings of the streets of Jaipur, the sound of chaos behind the beautiful block print of Rajasthan, is what I saw while I was there for a short time. Fascinated by that, I was more and more concerned about the condition of the artists economically and that is when they came from being the karigars of Jaipur to the karigars of Manngiri and the brand started working closely with these artists, highly skilled in their techniques, inherited from generations going back in old times.
These karigars have been working all their lives to provide for others, getting the least appreciation for all the work they put into the society, working in not so good economical condition so much so that at times, they even forget to work for themselves.
For me, these artists have always been the pillars of the brand, getting to know my men, their work was always a priority, will always be one. With the starting of this brand, I wanted to provide for the customer of my community and at the same time, for these people who play a major role in curating and bringing forth the exclusive inventory of the brand.
Our team of craftsmen and weavers are skilled in hand- block carving, making each block and print a unique piece of craft, preparing natural handmade dyes, and creating textile from finely sourced fabric.
The conclusion is not a final stitch but a gentle nod to the ongoing saga woven by the skilled hands of our artisans. As we trace the intricate patterns of this narrative, it becomes clear that these craftsmen are not just creators; they are the custodians of a legacy that spans generations and the heart of the brand. As we celebrate the artisans of Indian clothing, we also recognize that their craft is more than a profession—it is a calling, an art form that transcends the mundane to become a living embodiment of the soul of India. From the bustling streets of local bazaars to the ateliers crafting high-end clothing, these craftsmen shape the very identity of our country's fashion landscape and Manngiri solely stands for it.
