You see, most of us are fed with boundaries based on gender, body image etc. since childhood and so was I. Some of us question it as we grow up, some disregard it completely and yet some simply accept and move away from the discussion all their lives. Can you imagine how varied and unique even the ones unknown to us must be?
Me being a plus size, every evening while walking through the streets, I found myself thinking more and more about this concern and how difficult it can get most of the times for me to find pieces that are made for my body and wanted to do something for the people who faced the same issue.
For me, more than building a piece of clothing, it is about building a community, a community that is safe for all, irrespective of sizes, genders. Inclusivity has been an integral part of Manngiri’s ethics since the day one and so is providing a space to people of sizes to find their freedom, to find their community and to build one, leading one to understand and buy the art that defines them personally.
Inclusivity, as far as it branches out is not just limited to the size that we provide but also, we provide shopping new dimension and a perspective, more like an experience like never before for the customer since we come up with in-house customisation which can flow up to as broad as our customer can think of.
Our brand brings forth a collection with a size chart that extends up to higher than 6Xl because before we attempt to understand how brands are moving towards being size inclusive, it is important we understand if it’s actually benefiting all the people in this community and that is why, we branch our collections out to men, women and kids at the same time, giving everyone to find a place where they never have to think of issues that I have faced in the past and seen people dealing with and provide it all in one place.
I have always been cheering for like people with like minds with an appreciation for every individual being more than just a size or a gender defining us. Fashion has always been a medium for me to understand and express one’s own sense of style. An “ideal” size, colour, shape has long been propagated in fashion for us, as a brand and this is what we hold the vision of extending everywhere in the near and far future.
