Article: Our Journey

Our Journey

I remember being in Jaipur, just another trip I was taking with an idea to learn more about the place, culture, people more closely and that is when I crossed paths with this beautiful hand printing art, the generational skilled craftsmen were performing and have been doing for years. This all happened, headed home as usual but the visuals did not leave my head for a long time and as it started up taking more space, it was a call for me to do something for my community, bring together this craft, the hands behind it and the more people I wanted to reach through the same.

By the mid-2021, I discussed about this vision of starting a brand having the above motive with my family and my people were very supportive of this cause because sooner or later I knew I had to do this, this is what brought me comfort back then and till the present day, it brings me peace in building a safe space for people who find it difficult to buy the fashion that defines them because of the factors that once, I used to face like size inclusivity, customisation to any extent and other resonating factors and that is how the journey of Manngiri began.

We started off as a brand and as the founder, I was fueled by a passion for work culture and a commitment to excellence, dared to dream of a brand that would not just sell clothing but would narrate stories, weave cultures, and epitomize the spirit of India on a domestic and global map.

It was not smooth sailing from the word go, we struggled, learnt a lot of things the hard way, survived through challenges that we did not even imagine until then. The one thing that always drove us through the tough times, right from the beginning, was our vision to make a tangible impact on the artisanal economy and to contribute to a better world to the best of our abilities.

Two years later, we have grown exponentially and have built this community of people who found their comfort in us, from all over the country and overseas as well. The team makes it sure to carefully select superior quality fabric and unique designs that are woven and taken into work by a network of highly skilled craftswomen and weavers from Jaipur, the place where it all started as a tiny seed.

As we step forward, we continue to be led by the goal of the greater good and maximum impact across a wider spectrum of areas. The brand has been curating a broad range of ethnic, casual and festive wear that co-exists for all, men, women and kids and with exclusive scope for customization at the same time. At Manngiri, we believe in our root cause of supporting the mission of #shoplocal, use of natural and hand made material like our naturally coloured dyes, the block and textile.

To that end, we believe in working hard and better towards are goals that are already building in a beautiful and desired direction and the rest of which we are committed to achieving.
